目前市售的Nafion質子交換膜(Proton Exchange Membrane, PEM)材料大都是含氟聚合物,其中最常見的就是全氟磺酸質子交換膜(Perfluoro Sulfonic Acid, PFSA)。但是其具有價格昂貴、官能基團較難磺酸化及對甲醇有極高的滲透性等缺點,因此許多學者開始嘗試找尋另一種替代材料來取代Nafion膜。在本實驗中選用價格便宜、成膜性高且化學穩定性佳的聚乙烯醇(Polyvinyl alcohol, PVA)作為質子交換膜主體,並添加不同磺酸化程度的改質劑,以提升氫離子傳導性和電導率。最後加入戊二醛(Glutaraldehyde, GA) 交聯以增加質子交換膜強度,並且放置於磷酸緩衝溶液(Phosphate Buffer Saline, PBS)測定對環境耐受度。此外也會針對電導率、傅立葉轉換紅外光譜儀、實體顯微鏡觀察、膨潤度及降解效能等測試進行分析。
