Effect of Attapulgite Addition on The Properties of Polyacrylonitrile Nanocomposite Hollow Fiber Membranes

Attapulgite, one kind of silicate with natural fibrous. It can be formed as nanocomposite with polymer. In this study, we attempt to add various content of attapulgite into PAN dope to fabricate the PAN nanocomposite hollow fiber membranes by using wet-spinning process. Viscose meter, FTIR, DSC, TGA and contact angle meter were used to investigate the effect of attapulgite addition on the properties of PAN nanocomposite hollow fiber membranes. The results show that the thermal properties of PAN nanocomposite hollow fiber membranes can be enhanced by adding attpulgite into PAN dope. Moreover, the pervaporation performances were also study. It show that the permeation flux of 90 wt.% aqueous isopropanol solution through attapulgite-added PAN nanocomposite hollow fiber membrane was higher than attapulgite-free PAN nanocomposite hollow fiber membrane.
坡縷石又名凹凸棒土,是一種天然纖維狀矽酸鹽粘土礦物,它可與高分子形成奈米複合材料,具有顯著的曝光耐久性和極佳的化學穩定性。本研究嘗試利用坡縷石添加在聚丙烯腈奈米複合高分子溶液中,改變坡縷石添加量(0.2、0.4、0.6 wt.%) ,以濕式紡絲法紡製聚丙烯腈奈米複合中空纖維膜。研究中分別利用粘度計、傅立葉轉換紅外線光譜儀(FTIR)、熱示差掃描分析儀(DSC)、熱重損失分析儀(TGA)、接觸角量測儀等儀器、探討所製備聚丙烯腈奈米複合中空纖維膜之物化性。研究發現添加坡縷石可提升聚丙烯腈奈米複合中空纖維膜的熱性質以及增加應用在滲透蒸發操作程序,分離異丙醇水溶液之透過通量。
