Miniaturized Resistance pH Sensor for Sweat Sensing Clothes Applications
微小化電阻式pH感測器於汗液感測衣之運用

In this study, a resistive pH sensor is proposed based on the conductive polymer membrane on ITO/PET flexible substrate for pH detection in human sweat. ITO electrodes on flexible substrate combined with PEDOT/PSS conductive polymer sensing membrane to be the resistive pH sensor. This device could be fixed on the clothes by using a very thin Velcro in the armpit area. Its metal signal lines woven by special skill were fixed in the stitching area in body side. The drawback of conventional pH glass electrode, which is the difficulty of miniaturization, was overcome by this proposed device. The advantages of this resistive pH sensor are small size, flexible structure, light weight and easily integrated on clothes. Before human body testing for sweat measurement, the minimum volume of solution for an acceptable output response was presented. Based on the experimental results, pH response could be obtained by using 5 u solution, which meets the criteria of human sweat rate in exercise. This proposed sensor could be applied in the sweat monitor for human health.
本研究以可撓性塑膠基板(ITO/PET)作為底材,建構出高分子導電薄膜之電阻式pH感測器,並完成組裝於衣服上,可用於偵測汗液pH值變化。此架構以軟性塑膠加ITO電極為基板,在感測區覆以PEDOT/PSS高分子導電薄膜作為感測薄膜,製作成電阻式pH感測器,元件可直接用超薄型魔鬼沾固定於衣物,置放於腋下,特殊車縫技術之金屬導線則固定在側邊之車縫線內。本感測器突破原本pH玻璃電極不易微小化的缺點,具體積小、可彎折、質地輕、易整合於衣物上等優點,另外在實際人體汗液測量運用前,探討此電阻式pH感測器所需最少溶液量,經實驗結果得到,僅需5ul的溶液量便可測得反應,符合人體在運動狀態下的基本排汗量,未來將可實際運用於汗液對於健康狀態的監控。
